Emphasis: shooting on sight, quick ball/player movement

Area: 20 x 20m

Players: Two teams of four per area. More players can be included but playing area needs to be adjusted accordingly.

Equipment: Small goals, cones, balls, bibs

Setup: In an area 20 x 20m with a small goal on either end and the corners cut off so that support players can be positioned near the attacking goal to assist with the attack.

How To: Set players up into teams of 4 (or as many as you have in your squad, but ensure the playing area is of an appropriate size). Two players from each side are situated in the attacking corners of the playing area to assist in creating 1 v 2 situations and shooting opportunities.

If the attacking side scores, the two supporting players are rotated out with two different players from the same side.

Screen 5 (20 mins)

Emphaisis: getting to ball first, dribbling, protecting the ball, shooting

Area: 15 x 15m

Players: 6-8 per grid

Equpment: mini-goals (if available), cones, balls

Setup: In an area 15 x 15m, place 4 mini-goals (cones with do). Dependant on player numbers, number off players, ensuring even numbers per grid. If using cones, goals can only be scored by using the front side of the goals.

How To: Players are positioned around the perimeter of the playing area. Each player is numbered so that there are pairs of numbers. Session begins as the server plays a ball into the area calling out a number. The players with that corresponding number enter the area attempting to get to the ball first, control it and then dribble to goal of their choosing to score. Defenders attempt to stop that from occurring.

Progression: The game can be developed by playing 2 v 2 scenarios or even allowing the use of outside players to create a wall pass or a change of the point of the attack.
