3 Player Central with back 4

4-3- positional rondo - playing out from the back - Multi directional back four.

Setup: as picture with 2 x CB and LB and RB in offensive phase positioning (Wide and High)

The ball is played to each defensive player in thier positions marked by cones - movement of course is expected around the coned areas from defensive players.

The ball is then played into the three central players to which each player has to recieve a pass from each other and pass out to opposite Coned back four on the third pass. (play out on the third central player pass to oppositie side).

Key Tips:

Movements and communication triggered by ball placement and pass dictation in middle three - back four.

Can you hit the furthest CBr away from pressure from middle third.

One touch direction passing.

High tempo passing in central three area (fast short, short then long ball out)

Slow down tempo across back four with fast final ball into central area.

Coach: focus on first touch and pass selection with tempo and body shape, creat good pre pass movement (open up). Third man off the ball movement. Number 6 central player looking to drop in and show to receive.

Progression:  Add a limited pressure defender to make game realism!! change after 45 seconds high pressure pressing.

3 Zone Possesion & press

3 zone Possession and Press.

Setup: 3 zones suited to ability and numbers.

Here we have 3 teams of 4.

Each team in each zone.

The two end zone teams keep possession and make either a passing Line 2 or passing  Line 3 split pass to opposite zone.

1 Player from the central zone applies pressure to win the ball in the end zone of possession. As the ball is switched from one zone to the other, then another player from the central zone goes and hunts/win the ball back and the other end zone player.

progress by adding player from opposite end zone to ccentral zone making a 3 v 1 as a target player to receive and turn to play to his zone or or act as dummy movement to create a passing line to pass through.

Progression 2:  allow a end zone player to run through to create a 1 v 1 in the central area and beat his man and then play into opposite zone to create a 5 v 1 and repeat probing process of practice.
