Organization:

1. Open area.

2. Every player with a ball.

Instructions:

1. Players perform series of juggling challenges.

2. After 3-5 minutes, players dribble in open area.

3. Review Messi/Ronaldo and moves from previous weeks.

Coaching Points:

1. Head up.

2. Soft, controlled touches.

3. Use of both feet.

Technical Non/Semi-Opposed

Organization:

Instructions:

Part 1

1. Player from each white line dribbles out ot the cone directly in front of him.

2. Player must play a pass with inside of the foot to the blue player on the right.

3. Passer continues across to the other side.

4. Sequence is repeated with Blue.

5. After 2-3 minutes, have them play it to the left.

Part 2

1. Player from each white line dribbles out to the cone and performs the hip swivel at the cone

2. Accelerate to the opposite line.

3. Blue players repeat sequence after white players get beyond cone.

4. After 2-3 minutes, players perform the move with the opposite foot.

Coaching Points:

1. Connect with teammate - eye contact.

2. Controlled approach - Messi dribbling.

3. Accelerate away - Ronaldo into space.

4. Technical execution of hip swivel:

a) Approach defender and open hips as if to pass.

b) Move ball across body using inside of the foot.

c) Exaggerate fake pass to sell the move to the defender

d) Verbal (call teammate) and visual (head movement) decoys.

e) Acceleration after the move.

Fully Opposed - 2v1

Organization:

1. 30x20 area.

2. 5x10 enzone.

3. 2yd counter gates.

4. Players set up as shown.

5. Plenty of balls.

Instructions:

1. Attackers set up at red cones as shown.

2. Defenders set up on end zone line.

3. Defender is live on pass.

4. 2v1 game to 2 goal; defender looks to attack blue counter gates.

5. Defender cannot challenge for ball inside endzone.

6. Players return to same line and rotate roles after 2-3 minutes.

Coaching Points:

1. Head up to observe space and defender's position.

2. Connection with teammate - visual (eye contact) and verbal (call for ball).

3. 1st attacker's role: commit defender, drive at speed.

4. 2nd attacker's role: support at angle, create space, be decoy.

5. Use of hip swive move to beat defender or set up decoy.

Progressions:

1. Remove endzone line.

2. Increase/decrease distance as necessary.

Organization:

1. 30x20 (or 40x30 depending on players' ability).

2. Teams set up as shown.

Instructions:

1. Free play: 4v4.

2. Restarts: kick-in or dribble in. No corners.

Coaching Points:

1. Three lines of attack.

2. Playing through the lines.

3. Movement and angles of support.

4. Positive mentality - get forward.

5. Recognition of space.

Progressions:

1. Ensure teams face various opponents.
