Warm-up (15 mins)

Set-up:

3 cones in a triangle 10 yards apart. 1 player on each cone. 1 ball on 2 of the cones.

Description:

2 players are servers, 1 player is the worker. Servers play a ball into the worker who uses different ways to get the ball either back to the original server, or to switch it to the other server. Each player works for 1 minute at a time, counting how many they complete. Rotate clockwise.

Progressions:

1. Receive across body with back foot, switch to other server with that same foot

2. Receive across body with back foot, switch to other server with the opposite foot

3. Receive across body with back foot, give it back to the same server with that same foot

4. Play back to same server with 1 touch back foot

Coaching Points:

1. Let ball run across body

2. Give information when pass ball

3. On toes

4. Pace of pass

5. Time between touch and pass

6. Pass ball to back foot

Game (60 mins)

Set-up:

Full field with big goals. 11 players on each team. Balls in each goal

Description:

11v11 game. One team plays a 4-3-3 with 1 holding midfielder and 2 attacking midfielders. The other plays a 3-4-3 box midfield. 20 minute games.

Progressions:

1. 3-4-3 vs 4-3-3 (1 holding, 2 attacking midfielders)

2. 3-4-3 vs 4-4-2 (diamond midfield)

3. 3-4-3 vs 3-5-2 (1 holding, 2 attacking midfielders)
