Warm-Up (10 mins)

Organization:-40 by 40 area

-12 players(6 attackers, 6 defenders)

-6 balls(additional on the outside)

Instructions: 1. Every attacker dribbles around the area with a ball.

2. Feeders move around the area without a ball as well.

3. Attackers pass to a feeder that is open.

4. The feeder then passes back to the attacker they received the ball from.

5. Attacker then looks for another feeder to pass to.

6. In turn, feeders should look for another attacker to receive from as well.

Coaching Points:-head up

-weight & accuracy of pass

-disguise your pass

-receive ball at an angle

Visual Cues:-Positioning of attacker with ball

-positioning in area

Progressions:P-play ball around a live person

R-open up area

Main Theme (15 mins)

Organization:-middle markers are 3 yards apart to form a triangle

-12 players(3 teams of 4)

-3 balls(1 per team)

Instructions: 1. In groups of four, place on player on the middle marker and the other 3 on the outside marker.

2. Player A starts with the ball.

3. Player A passes the ball to Player B then joins the back of the line.

4. Player B then passes to player C who is now at the front of the line.

5. Continue through the line 5 times and then change middle player.

6. complete session with all 3 groups.

Coaching Points:-angle of approach

-specific passing technique

-supporting foot next to ball

-contact on the ball-middle

Visual Cues:-distance to target

-positioning of ball

R-decrease distance

Main Theme 2 (15 mins)

Organization:-15 by 15 area

-4 players(3 attackers, 1 defender)

-1 ball(additional on the outside)

Instructions: 1. 3 v 1 keep away within area.

2. Attacking team must keep possession within the area.

3. For every 5 passes the attacking team gets a point.

4. If the defender manages to intercept the ball or force play out of bounds, defender gets a point.

5. Attacking team must try to acquire as many points as they can in 2 minutes.

6. After 2 minutes defender is switched over and play restarts again.

7. Restarts are started from the attacking team and start from 0 passes. First pass is always free.

Conditioned Game (20 mins)

Organization:-50 by 40 area

-12 players(3 teams of 4)

-1 ball( additional on the outside)

Instructions: 1. Play small sided 4 v 4.

2. Have one team on the outside, as neutrals. Limit their touch to two touches max.

3. Look to use different passing techniques depending on situation.

Coaching Points:-angle of approach

-specific passing technique

-movement off the ball to support

-support player on the ball at an angle

-head up

Free Play/Scrimmage (30 mins)

Organization: two 20 by 20 areas

12 players(4 teams of 3)

1 ball per game(additional on the outside)

Instructions: 1. Teams play small sided 3 v 3 games.

2. Normal game rules apply(corner kicks, throw-ins, etc.)

3. If goal is scored, scoring team must run back and touch their goal before being allowed to defend.

4. Conceding team must restart play from own end line with kick in.

5. play for a set time and then rotate teams.

Coaching Points:-specific passing technique

-support player on the ball at an angle

-don't play direct every time(use width of the field)

-play side to side to create gaps in between opponents to play forward
