Passing and Receiving. Fundamentals for use of inside push pass.

Organization:
-2, 20 x 20yd grids.
-15 players split into 2 groups.
-1 ball per group.
Instructions:
-Ball is passed between players 1 and 5 in numerical order.
-1 passes to 2- 2 passes to 3 - 3 passes to 4, etc.
Coaching Points:
1.Technique of push pass
2.Accuracy of the pass
3.Use the first touch to set up the next action
4.Ability of each group to use entire box efficiently.
5.Eye contact with the superior number before receiving.
6. Utilize space and hit longer (driven) passes.
Progressions:
- Alternate 1 touch, 2 touch.
-Alternate short passes and long passes.
-Add second ball.

Organization:
-Same grids as in the previous activity.
-4v1 into each box.
Instructions:
-4 players pass and try to keep the ball from the defender.
- If defender steals the ball, they get a point for connecting with a teammate in their original square
Progression:
- Defender wins the ball, the other team uses both until alternate defender can win a ball back.
-If defender wins the ball, switch with the player who gave the ball away.
Coaching points:
1.Early communication when receiving.
2.Spacing and ability of the attackers to use entire box.
3. Quality and accuracy of passes.
4. Head up to find teammates quickly, try to play 2touch, 3 touch max.
Progressions:
-Limit players to 2 touches.
-Add second defender (see next slide).

Instructions:
-Same as previous activity, but added second defender to create 3v2 situation.
Coaching Points:
1.Proper technique of passing and receiving.
2.Early communication when receiving.
3. Movement off the ball to create passing angles.

Organization:
-2 Triangles set up with 3 cones about 20 yards apart.
-3 players on one cone and 2 players at other cones.
Instructions:
-Player from first cone passes to player from second cone , after he open up away from the cone and follow your pass .
-Player from second cone takes first touch around his cone then passes to player at third cone, follow your pass and join the line at the next cone and continuous the rotation.
Coaching Points:
1.Techniqie of push pass.
2.Direction of the first touch. (Great review of week 1)
3. Angle of approach and support
4.Head up to observe position of teammate.
Progressions:
-Introduce driven pass.
-Competition: Which group can get around the triangle 10 times? (Cooperative Learning).
-Wall pass, short-short-long.
