Physical preparation (10 mins)

METHOD

Goalkeepers move along the 18 yard box, without the ball. For 3 lengths they complete the following actions:

1. Jogging

2. Heal flicks

3. High Knees

4. Side Steps

5. Skipping

6. Trunk twists

Finish with static stretches.

Handling (10 mins)

METHOD

Goalkeeper in set position. Feeder on 6 yeard box feedinf in variety of balls direct to keeper.

PROGRESSION

Feeder now serves the ball to either side of the keeper.

COACHING POINTS

Correct set position:

1. Feet shoulder width apart.

2. Hands up.

3. Knees slightly bent.

4. Knees over toes.

5. Weight on balls of feet.

When diving, attack the ball.

Step towards the ball, bending knee.
