Warm-Up (Ball mastery)

Organisation: 10 5x5 areas, 1 player to each area, each player has a ball,

Tic-tacs 1 minute

Sole/heel roll 1 minute on each foot

Sole/toe rolls 1 minute on each foot

Use right foot to roll the ball left left foot to roll the ball right 2minutes

Warm-Up (Passing)

Organisation: 5 5x10 areas 2 players in each area with 1 ball for each pair.

1. Players pass the ball back and forward using both feet, 2 touch so they are also working on recieving the ball.

2. Players again passing the ball back and forward but this time there first touch is to knock the ball to the side before playing it back.

3. Player passes the ball and then makes a run around there partner shouting pass as they run around, partner will play a through ball for there partner to run on to. (switch after 3-4 goes each)

4. Player with the ball dribbles to the middle of the area and rolls the ball backwards for there partner who has also made a run to the middle, they then continue to the opposite sides before turning and going again.

5. Finish off with some 1 touch passing, make it a challange to see which pair can go the longest with out losing control of the ball ie doesnt take a touch before passing, ball out of there area etc.

Passing 1

Organisation: 10x10 area with 1 player on each side and 1 in the middle, 1 ball

Players on outside using 2 touch football pass to the middle player who will make a first time pass to another player, encourage players on outside to move up and down there line so that the middle player has to have a quick look up before a pass. swap middle player so everyone has a go

Progression:

One of the outside players comes into the middle as a defender, middle player has to move a round to make him self free for a pass, outside players encouraged to move into free slot outside area to support other outside players and the player in the middle, outside players dont have to use middle player, but only get a point for each successful pass into middle player, again middle player is looking for first time pass. keep rotating players around, have a competion with the other group,who can get the most points in a set time.

Passing 2

Organisation: 4 10x15 areas with a goal at one end as shown,3 defenders in the first 3 areas, 1 Gk in the last ares and 2 attackers with a ball.

Attackers have to work there way through each section passing at least once in each section before finally trying to score in section 4, Defenders can only defend there area and start at the back of it, once the ball enters there area they can try to win the ball.

Attackers earn points for each section they get through.

SSG

Organisation: 40x30 area with 4 mini goals spread 15yards apart. 4v4 with 2 floaters who play for the team in possession to create an overload (6v4)

How this game works is points are awarded for how many passes are completed before scoring a goal, ie 1 pass then a goal = 1 point, 5 successive passes then a goal = 5 points etc
