Combination play in the final 3rd - MDG (30 mins)
Key Factors
Width and depth of attack. 2 cm never on same horizontal or vertical lines. Forwards never on same horizontal or vertical lines.
Movement to lose defenders, go away to come short, short to go long. Different options for ball player. quick combinations, to create shooting opportunities. Take on shooting opportunities when they arise.
Tight areas, so minimal touches.
INDIVIDUAL CREATIVITY, beating a player, will create an overload for a combination.
Organisation
Multi Directional Game. 40 x 40 square, plus channels for neutral players.
If score retain posession and attack opposite goal. 2 Neutral players on outside are restricted to 2 touches (reduce to one touch if taking too long/unrealistic)
At least 2 passes before a shot, to encourage some combination play.
If defenders win it, and stays in play, they are attacking the opposite goal to they were defending. If it goes out, play from defending team keeper.
Offsides in play from half of the pitch, maintain realism, while not allowing the defence to condense the play too small.
