Warming Up (15 mins)

Objective: Dribble and Move

Area: Half court.

Equipment: 4x4 cones,1 ball each.

Time: 15 mins

Organisation:

Players dribble in the area. At coach command they will move into the grid as shown by colours.

Demand quality by telling players to stop the ball inside the grid with maximum 3 touch once they are in the box.

Increase demand.

Technique (20 mins)

Objective: Dribbling the ball.

Area: Full Court

Equipment: 12 Cones, 9 markers, 1 ball each.

Time: 20 mins

Organisation:

Start the ball from deep, get the player to take a 1st touch forward.

Player to dribble to the end and stop the ball inside the end grid before rejoining the group on the other side and repeat movement.

Coaching Points:

- Look up when pushing the ball forward towards the direction of flow.

CONTROL THE BALL

-To the direction of movement.

-Always infront of you.

-Into the space.

HOW TO CONTROL

- Lean body forward to prepare for acceleration.

- Using instep for fluid control movement.

- Tap the ball gently to keep it under control.

Skill (20 mins)

1v1 Duel

Objective: Improve dribbling with defender chasing.

Area: Full court

Equipment: 2 markers, 4 cones, Supply of ball.

Time: 15 mins

Organisation:

Ball start from middle player who will start to dribble only then defender will be activated.

Defender will have to run across, before chasing the attacker who will run into the 2 gate of his choice.

Progression:

Defender don't need to run across, will start to chase after attacker move.

AWARENESS

- Look up when pushing the ball forward towards the direction of flow.

- Be aware of danger (opponent)

WHERE TO CONTROL THE BALL

-To the direction of movement.

-Always infront of you.

-Into the space.

HOW TO CONTROL

- Lean body forward to prepare for acceleration.

- Using instep for fluid control movement.

- Tap the ball gently to keep it under control.

SSG (25 mins)

SSG

Objective: SSG game to coordinate dribbling within a team condition.

Area: Half court

Equipment: 8 cones, Supply of ball. Bibs

Time: 20 mins

Organisation:

Team with the ball will start to attack onto the goals provided. To score the goal, they have to dribble through the gate. They have a choice to score on either goals as shown.

Coaching Point

AWARENESS

- Look up when pushing the ball forward towards the direction of flow.

- Be aware of opponent positioning.

WHERE TO CONTROL THE BALL

-To the direction of movement.

-Always infront of you.

-Into the space.

- Away from the defender

Objective: SSG game to coordinate dribbling within a team condition.

Area: Full court

Equipment: Supply of ball. Bibs

Time: 15 mins

Organisation:

Green will start play from the goalkeeper and create a good attaking positioning. Defenders to get into a defensive compact position.
