Passing Unopposed AJ (15 mins)

Passing Unopposed

4 players in each area, players have stay in their area, 1 ball between each group.

Players start by passing to each other in the group, players are stationary. I weant them to focus on the non kicking foot facing the target and making sure players are using the inside of the foot (biggest part of the foot).

The next progression I would do is get the players one they have passed the ball to someone, follow their pass. This ges them to think about movement now, not just the pass. Can they find the space!

The final progression is to get players to move around there area and pass, this will be harder now. Can the players now start to pass the ball in front of a player for them to run onto. One touch to control/one touch to pass.

Other progressions:

- Make area smaller

- First time pass

- Weaker foot

- Number players 1 to 4 in their group, coach calls a number out, the player will then move into the next grid clockwise.

So many adaptations/progressions for this drill.

Each player in each group will be given a number, when the coach calls out a number, the person whos number is called goes clockwise to the next grid and see if they can win the ball. The players with possession of the ball have 15 seconds to keep it to get one point. If the defending player gets a touch within 15 seconds they get one point. After 15 seconds the defenders return to their group. Give each player a chance to defend.

Instead of players going clockwise they could go:

- Anti-Clockwise

- Diagonal

- Left/Right

- Up/Down

Progression:

- Instead of 4 grids just go with two

- Call out 2 numbers
