Coerver Ball Work (15 mins)

Coerver Ball Work (15 min)

Players at each corner dribble to the centre traffic cone using a variation of ball mastery techniques and turn and go out to the next cone and repeat. Use bells, toe taps, side rolls, juggling, etc. when going from corner to center cone & center cone to corners, use stepovers, scissors, sole "v", reverse "L", etc. as approaching cones and changing direction.

Coaching Points: Keep head up, stay balanced & over the ball, accererate away from cones (Defenders)

Distances from cones to poles:

1. 30m

2. 20m

3.10m

4. 50m

5. 25m

6.15m

7.30m

8.40m

9. 15m

Outside square is 50x60m

Red straight lines (cone to pole) is the working run, black line (pole to cone) is recovery run

Square around outside is always a 50% run

Follow the follwoing percentages during the runs (% of top speed) (players work in pairs)

1. 60% for both lines

2. 75% red line, 40% black line

3. 100% red line, walk black line

4. 75% red line, 60% black line

5. 100% red line, 20% black line

6. 60% red line, 20% black line

Repeat except for run 1 for a total of 15 minutes

Overlapping A (15 mins)

Overlapping Activity A (15 min)

Forward begins to dribble as the player behind begins an overlapping run. Forward plays ball into overlapping players path & makes a run inside towards goal. Overlapping player crosses as forward finishes. Defender plays passive. Rotate left to right sides. Switch defenders ea 2 min.

Variation 1: Increase defensive pressure

Variation 2: Allow attacker to make the decison to play overlapping player in or to keep the ball onto goal

Variation 3: Start the ball with the overlapping player, who plays the ball to the forward and receives the ball back on the overlap

Coaching Points: Allow the players to learn & understand, promote quick movement, encourage communication

4 v 2 Small SIded Game (15 mins)

4 v 2 small sided game w/bumpers (15 min) (2 min or 2 goals)

Two squares playing 4 v 2. Attacking players can shoot after 5 touches. 1 point for attacking palyers goal, 2 points for defenders goal. Rotate groups every 2 min. Expand to 20 x 20 if too dificult.

CP: Movement after the pass. Offer angles of support. Communication.

6 v 6 ea 2 min or two goals switch, ball starts with keeper

Restrictions: 5 connected passes & one of the following (1-2 pass, short-short-long, wall pass, overlap, etc.) before shooting

Coaching Points: Movement off the ball, move the ball quickly, look for penetrating balls into the attacking 1/3, Immediate Pressure, Cover & Communicati
