3v1 Warm-up (5 mins)

4v1 Warm-up:

Rules:

- First team to 5 points

- Player in the middle gets one point if they win the ball or if the ball goes out

- Players on the outside get one point if they connect 4 passes.

Passing Progression: How many passes can you get in 30 seconds?

1) Player in middle is passive and players work on movement off the ball while receiving and passing accurately.

2) Can progress to having two balls on outside and middle player has to receive from one and pass it to the other

3) "" as 2 but now players on outside can move to make it harder for player in the middle to receive and pass the ball.

Coaching Point: 3 step rule, always supporting your teammate.

Bunch up to win the ball, spread out to keep it!

Optional: Technical Warm-up (20 mins)

Technical Warm-up:

A. Ball-Mastery: Pull-push, inside-pull, side swipes, inside-outside cut, inside sole, dribble cut,

B. Passing & Receiving: Players partner up with one ball at a gate. How many passes can you get in 30 seconds?

1) right foot one touch passing, how many passes can you complete

2) "" left foot

3) directional touch outside the gate and pass, repeat on other side. (Same foot receive & pass) Then switch roles of partner.

4) opposite foot receive and pass. Switch roles

5) receive with inside and push with outside of foot + pass. Switch roles.

6) any directional touch + cut back to inside of foot. Switch roles.

Possession 3v3+2 (15 mins)

Passing thru Gate game: 20x30 Yard Grid. 3v3+2.

Rules:

- 4 minute games

Game #1: 3 touches max. Score by connecting 5 consecutive passes.

Game #2: Two touches max. score by connecting 5 consecutive passes.

- Losing team has fitness

Coaching Points: How can you be successful in the game? Peak, why? So you know who is open. When your teammate has the ball what should you do?

Two Wide Goals (15 mins)

Two Wide Goals Game:20x30 Yard Grids

3v3+2 or 4v4

-2-3 touches max

Players score by dribbling thru the gate.

Coaching Points: This game will naturally teach width. If a gate is blocked, what should the offensive team do? Drop and Switch the field.

6v6 with Two Wide Goal Incentives

Rules: 3 Touches max!!

Game #1: Have to dribble or pass thru one of the two gates before you can score.

Game #2: Players get three points if they pass thru the gate, one point if they dribble thru and one point if they score on the big goal

Game #3: Free Play

Coaching Points: If passing or dribbling through the gate is not on. What should do you? Drop and switch. In order to do this players need to open up and look to play it back and then switch the ball.

If they are bunched up need to address the issue. What's wrong with this picture? (Keep the coaching points to a minimum though!)
