Warm up (Ball Mastery) (20 mins)

Organization:

Ball each, players dribble around the area.

Coaching Points:

-Head up

-Use of all surfaces on both feet

(inside, outside, sole, laces)

Progressions:

- coach will inform players to use only one part of the foot when dribbling with them to be creative and come up with skills using only that part.

-Change of pace if there is space to exploit

-Correct exicution of tricks

Players are able to be creative and find combinations of skills without going through each skill step by step they are able to practice accordingly

passing pattern (20 mins)

Passing Pattern

Set Up

Pass the ball to your team mate and follow your pass

player before receiving the ball should check off and creat space to recieve

Progressions

1-2 with the player around the pole then pass it to the next player

use two balls to have less waiting time to increase the tempo

Punch the ball in and try to play using one touch (2 touch max)

Key Points

Recieve the ball on the back foot

check your shoulder before movement

Team Rondos

Set Up

one group in the middle with all other groups together in a circle around them. outside teams work together. When the team in the middle wins the ball they then replace the positions of the team they won the ball from.

constantly changing the teams in the middle, every time the ball is given away.

Progressions

-limit touches to keep the ball flowing

-target for players on the outside to reach and if they do the team in the middle stay in for another go.

Key Points

- combine with short options to draw defender to use the space to play around them.

Transitional play - recovery runs (30 mins)

Set Up

Two teams set up on the right side of each goal.

Players have to dribble past the red zone before shooting

first player gets a free shot on goal.

As soon as player shoots the player from opposigin team can dribble to score .

player than has just shot must now react quickly to track attacking player and stop the goal.

Progressions

If defending player makes a tackle they can then go and score in opposition goal.

Key Points

Ready position

Speed of reaction when attacking to get better chance to score

once shot be quick to defend attacking player
