Organisation: Area size 20-25yds between goal and 3 cones, 20-25yds wide, adjust as you see fit. Players lined up behind 3 cones, each player has a ball, players not at front of line perform some kind of ball mastery while waiting ie toe taps.
1. Player 1 dribbles the ball to the pole, performs a skill past the pole and then gets off a quick shot at goal.
2. Player 1 then quickly gets ready to perform a wall pass with player 2, who will finish off move with a shot on goal
3. Player 2 then becomes a defender and has to stop player 3 from shooting, player 3 can start as soon as player 2 has shot
Coaching Points:
1: Close ball control on approach to pole, encouarge use of skill taking pole on (step overs/sidesteps), accelerate away after taken pole on, encourage quick shot, Head up.
2. weight of pass, pass and move, communication (shout wall pass) encourage first time shot, Head up
3. Shoot as quickly as possible, defender (player 2) to close down as quick as possible
encourae use of different parts of feet when passing/dribbling/shooting
Progressions:
1. Replace pole with a defender (change DEF every couple of minute) who will defend against player 1 dribbling, player 1 and 2 looking for a wall pass (overload 2v1) and then defend with player 2 against player 3.
2. same as above but player 1 joins up with player 3 in final phase to create a 2v2.
