Screen 1 (15 mins)

Organization:

-Players in groups of 6, 3 per line, 15 yds apart

-Player a passes firmly to B, then runs at 60-65% around the RED disc, back-peddles around BLUE disc, and then runs to the back of opposite line.

-Player B upon receiving passes within 2 touches (preferably) and repeats the same sequence on the opposite side

-Players continue to repeat sequence.

-Perform 4 sets each at 2.5 minutes of work, with 1 minute of rest between sets.

-Optional: Create competition between groups to see which group can connect the most amount of "consecutive" passes within the 2.5 minute set. Start the counting sequence at 0 if a player takes more than 2 touch, poor accuracy, poor speed of pass, or if a player does not work at the appropriate work rate. 

-Have a few spare balls on hand in the event a poor pass is made and you need to re-start activity quickly. This will deter from lowering the heart rate.

Total-15 minutes

Coaching Points:

-Do not stop the players to correct technique during the activity as it will bring down heart rate

-Give feedback during the flow or at the end of the 2.5 minutes for the group.

Fitness through small sided activities (25 mins)

Organization:

-The activities take place in approx. 30 x 25 area; adjust as need be...

-You can set up all the equipment for each of the small sided games as the above image so it will allow for seamless transition between activities.

-Games are 5 minutes in duration

Small Sided Activity 1

-2 teams of 4 with target players for the red team;(adjust numbers, add a neutral based on quantity of players)

-The 2 teams play a directional game with Blue attacking the large goal and red if they win possession passing to the Green targets.

-Keep it game pace and high intensity!

-If the ball is kicked out or touches a team last, the coach immediately serves a ball in to the other team...The coach should keep a collection of balls with him/her...

-Play 5 minutes and thereafter switch roles....Red attacks large goal and blues play to target players

-Give the players 2 minutes of rest between sets which can be a combination of coaching points or active rest

-12 minutes

Small Sided Activity 2

- Using the same area as the above teams will now play east -west!

-The Blue team scores points by dribbling through 1 of the blue gates and stopping the ball. The REd team must circulate the ball and pass to a teammate in the endzone for a point...

-Play 5 minutes and thereafter switch roles....Red seek to dribble through the gates and Blue attack the endzone.

-Give the players 2 minutes of rest between sets which can be a combination of coaching points or active rest

-12 minutes

Coaching Points:

-Coach in the flow as much as possible as Fitness is the theme..

-when you have the ball = dispersal(get big), support(within 360 degrees of player), movement, penetration, is the other team disorganized when you win the ball = attack quickly in transition..

7 v 7 game with accelerations (25 mins)

Organization:

-In your area play 7 v 7 games with pylons approximately 5yds behind the goals on each side of the field.

-# the field players off 1 -6. When a team is in possession of the ball the coach will CALL OUT a number on the opposite team.. EG: Blue is in possession of the ball and the coach calls out RED 1. That player must sprint around a disc at the opposite end and therafter recovers to join the game

-Play 4 x 5 minute games with 2 minutes rest between sets.
