Fakes/Feints (15 mins)

Organization:

-See diagram for set-up and equipment

-Area approx. 15x15

-players working in pairs (1 attacker/1 defender), with the attacker attempting to use fakes/feints to unbalance the defender and beat them to the gate. Race is not started till the attacker breaks the line between the cones. Players switch roles each rotation.

Possible variations/progression:

1. First with no ball, attacker tries to beat attacker to gate

2. Ball starts stationary, attacker fakes/feints over the ball - when they touch the ball and break the line, they dribble to the gate with defender racing them to it

3. can move the ball behind the cones/line - once they break the line, defender races them again

4. Defender can win the ball off attacker and dribble back over start line

Coaching Points:

-agility, balance, changing speeds/directions

-good first touch forwards, attack defender at speed, use of moves, changes of speed/directions

Possible variations/progression:

-Take out specific zone

Coaching Points:
