Ball Mastery (10 mins)

Objective: Build repetition, touches, and proper technique in first 10 minutes.

Area: Quarter of indoor field at Campton arena

Activity: On coach command, players work through different exercises.

1. Outside of the foot running w/the ball 2. Laces running w/the ball 3. Running w/the ball outside chop 4. Running w/ the ball inside chop 5. Bridge (play ball one way and run around defender and get it on other side)

Coaching Points: Proper technique for each skill, head up, ball pushed out further in front, use laces or outside foot, run to the ball

Relay Races (20 mins)

Objective: Develop players' comfort with running with the ball at pace.

Area: Quarter of indoor field at Campton arena

Activity: Divide into two squads or even 3 squads. See above for exercises 1-6. 1. Straight out and straight back. 2. Zig zag out, straight back. 3. Figure 8 with inside and outside turn. 4. Round the cone inside and outside parts of feet. 5. Straight out, zig zag back. 6. Bridge the dummies.

Coaching Points: Proper technique for each skill, head up, ball pushed out further in front, use laces or outside foot, run to the ball, accelerate after changing direction.

1v1 Running with the ball (20 mins)

Objective: Develop player's ability to drive at players with speed and beat them to score.

Area: Divide quarter into half or thirds of indoor field at Campton arena

Activity: Player 1 plays player 2 who receives with a good first touch and drives at defender to score. If defender wins ball, play to player 1 for point. Player 1 goes to player 2 spot and player 2 to player 1 spot. Defender is confined to zone.

Coaching Points: Proper technique for each skill, head up, ball pushed out further in front, use laces or outside foot, run to the ball, accelerate after changing direction, positive first touch to start to drive, attack and unbalance then go

1v1/2v2 Flying Changes (20 mins)

Objective: Develop player's ability to drive at players with speed and beat them to score in a SSG.

Area: Divide quarter into half or thirds of indoor field at Campton arena

Activity: Navy v Red. If Navy player scores, red leaves and a new red player comes on to receive a ball from coach. If ball goes into touch both players change. Play 3-4 minute rounds at high intensity.

Coaching Points: Proper technique for each skill, head up, ball pushed out further in front, use laces or outside foot, run to the ball, accelerate after changing direction, positive first touch to start to drive, attack and unbalance then go. When adding in to 2v2, recognize situations and spatial awareness.

Juggling Cool Down (5 mins)

Use this to get their juggling in. Any time they drop the ball, they must shield ball immediately and then continue their juggling.
