Wreck it Ralph (10 mins)

Wreck It Ralph

20 by 20 area, 6 players with a ball, 2 players without a ball, tall cones set up around the grid.

Before the game go over the correct passing technique:

- Inside of the foot

- Non kicking foot to the side of the ball facing the target

- Strike the middle of the ball

- Eyes on the ball on contact

6 players are Wreck It Ralph and are trying to knock down as many tall cones (buildings) as they can. The 2 players without the ball are Fix it Felix and are looking to pick up a cone (repair the buildings) as soon as one is knocked down. Can the Wreck It Ralph team knock more buildings down that Fix It Felix's put back up?

Progression/Adaptations:

1) Increase the numbers of Fix it Felix's at the start

2) Take away tall cones/ add more in.

3) Coaches go around and place pinnies on cones (buildings), the Wreck it Ralph who knocks that building down gets 5 points compared to 1 point for knocking down a building without a pinnie on top. This will get the players looking up and trying to knock the cone down quicker which means they might be shooting from further away!

Play for 10/15 Minutes

Toy Story (10 mins)

Toy Story

10 by 20 area, narrow but long area. Woody/ Jessie (runners) do not have a ball and are looking to get from one side to the other without getting hit by a soccer ball. The players on the side are Lotso (shooters), they have to use the inside of the foot to pass the ball and try and hit a player below the knee. If you are hit by a soccer ball you help Lotso get the other players out. The last person left is the winner.

Ask the players who wants to be Lotso, if no players want to be then you will have to start the game off as Dr Evil's until someone is out.

To start the game the coach will shout Woody & Jessie are you ready? they will reply with 'YEEEE HAAA', the loudest will get a free pass to the other side. When this player reaches the other saide they say 'go'. The game starts now!

Coaching Points:

- Use the inside of the foot only

- Strike the ball in the middle so it doesnt go in the air

- Have a big run up so you can pass the ball harder

- Choose someone to shoot the ball at

Adaptations/Progressions:

1) Make area smaller/bigger depending on how well the players are doing

2) Start with more Lotso's

3) Give Woody/ Jessie's 2 lives

Play for 10/15 Minutes

Coaching points:

- Encourage decision making, which goal do I score in? Do I defend/attack?

- Combine dribbling with using the inside of the foot to shoot.

Progressions/Adaptations:

1) Shout more than 1 number

2) Use 1 goal

3) Throw in 2 balls

4) Make goals smaller/bigger
