Warm up (20 mins)

Start with dynamic exercises before moving onto this.

1 Red cones) Player sprints to cone to press realistically and then as if the opposition has turned the defence with a ball over the top he performs a recovery run to the other cone

2 Yellow cones) Player shuffles to second cone as if he is CB in back 4 then sprints to third cone as if FB has been done and he needs to cover

3 Blue cones) Player drops off cone to receive from pass with back to goal, passes back to partner and makes a curved run between cones.

Recovery runs (20 mins)

Players are number 1-3 (depending on numbers)

Number 1 for one team dribbles ball at speed to score in goal within marked area. Others stand by the side of the goal with a ball each.

As soon as the ball goes in the goal number 1 of the other team dribbles up to score.

> no2 blue dribble to score, no1 red chase

Progression (25 mins)

Progression

-Phase 1 - Number 1 blue passes into number 1 red who dribbles to play 1v1 against number 2 blue.

-Phase 2 - Number 3 blue brings his ball in to play 2v1 in favour of the blues.

-Phase 3 - Number 2 red brings his ball in to play to play 2v2.

-Phase 4 - Number 1 blue brings his ball in to play 3v2 in favour of blues

-Phase 5 - Number 3 red brings his ball in to play 3v3

-End of phases

3v3 (25 mins)

15 x 15 grid

3 x 8 minute blocks - 2 mins rest

Conditions

- score within zone (only 1 player from each team allowed in zone)

- player who shot must run around goal before joining back into the game allowing the counter attacking team a 3v2 overload.
