Screen 1 (10 mins)

Set Up:

4 lines of 2 players

5 cones 1 foot apart with the last cone 10 yards

4 soccer balls

Description:

i) quick feet over the cones; close control dribble to final cone; turn dribble back and stop ball with sole at starting position and jog back (3 times)

ii) two-footed hop over the cones; close control dribble to final cone; turn dribble back and stop ball with sole at starting position and jog back with high knees (3 times)

iii) one-footed lunges; close control dribble to final cone; turn dribble back and stop ball with sole at starting position and jog back with butt kicks(3 times)

Coaching Points:

On toes over the cones

Close control dribbling to final cone with a one-touch turn to accelerate back

Screen 2 (10 mins)

Set Up:

4 cones set up in a diamond formation 10 yards apart

Description:

Player A passes to B and then moves quick to receive pass at wide cone

Player B receives pass and passes to A at wide cone

Player A receives and plays a sqaure pass to B at opposite wide cone and rejoins line

Player B receives and plays back to new player A

Coaching Points:

On toes and eye contact with teammate to receive pass, positive first touch into space, proper weight and angle with pass to feet, quick run to open cone

maintain a good flow of ball movement
