Ball Mastery (10 mins)

1. Toe Taps-alternate touching the ball useing the sole(bottom) of the foot

2. Foundations-alternate touching the ball using the inside (big toe) of the foot. Legs should move up and down to mimick running in place.

3. pull tap inside-using the sole of the foot players will pull the ball towards them and then using the inside of the same foot players tap or push the ball in front of them to the other foot and repeat

4. pull tap outside-using the sole of the foot players will pull the ball towards them and then using the outside of the same foot players tap or push the ball to the side of their body reaching across the body with the sole of the other foot players will pull the ball across their body and repeat using the other foot

5. pull tap laces-using the sole of the foot players will pull the ball towards them and then using the laces(top of foot) of the same foot players tap or push the ball in front of them to the other foot and repeat

1v1 attacking (10 mins)

Attacker uses cuts, double cuts, and turns to beat defender to either goal

If the defender wins the ball they attack either goal.

Focus on setting up the move quick decisions and attacking the open goal

square passing (10 mins)

3 balls passing around the square and follow your pass. Check to the ball and 1st touch toward next pass

give go- create space and a triangle by showing wide not up the line. Can we play one time lay offs

3rd man- create space and angles. support the pass with movment off the ball

crossing and finishing (10 mins)

Ball starts in the middle. Play the target, who then lays the ball back on an angle. The ball is then played wide to the winger who times their run. The ball is served for a one time shot. (between the 6yd box and pk spot)

Horse shoes (10 mins)

In teams of two player serve the ball to their partner on the other side. The partner has one touch to get the ball in the zone and closest to the middle ball. Older players should serve the ball in the air younger players can play on the ground or in the air. If served on the ground the partners 1st touch should be outside the box.

1v1 defending (10 mins)

Defenders use a fast approach to close the ball down. Once they get with in "range" the defender should slow down and get touch tight. The defender should try to stay in front of the ball/attacker and tackle only when the timing is right. Do not over run the attacker or dive/stab in.
