Tuesday ADP (20 mins)

Instruction: 1 v 1 Defending

The first team attacks one goal then defends the other goal. The drill is continuous attack and defend.

Focus Points:

Attacker: Attack the defender at speed, if the defender is in a staggered stance attack with the lead foot, make a fake just outside the defenders tackling range. Accelerate past the defender into space, soft touches, low centre of gravity.

Defender: Close the attacker down quickly to prevent penttration, as the defender gets closer to the attacker adopt a low centre of gravity, get sideways on and take small steps, the defenders last three or four steps may be angled to force the attacker wide, tackle if the attacker mis-touches the ball or loses control.

Remember: FAST, SLOW, OUTSIDE, LOW.

Fast- approaching the the attacker

Slow- when you get close to the attacker

Outside-Force the attacker wide

Low- Low centre of gravity
