1v1 Attacking & Counter Attacking (20 mins)

Set Up

 - A 15 x 15yd grid with 4 small gates.

- Blue lines up with ball along side Red.

- There is a line marked halfway between the goals.

- Practice starts with: Blue passes to Red and overlaps him. If the defender wins possession he must try to score into either 4 goals as quick as possible.

- Red player tries to score in either of the 4 goals, using turns, skills, Feints or Changes of Direction.

- To improve decision making, When, Where to win Ball

- Identifying the best goal to score into

- Create and exploit space

Passing Pattern (2 CM's) (30 mins)

Set Up

20x20 square.

5 players on the outside of the square and two players inside the square.

The ball is pass from corner to corner of the square with each player following their pass. The receiver is to play a one-two around the corner cones with one of the middle players.

- Passing, identifying the difference between a pass and a set

 - Where and when to support the player in possession, angles and timing

Directional Rondo (30 mins)

Set Up

The red team play across the square. The Blue team play up and down the pitch. The objective is for the ball to be switched across the square into the opposite target player.

Progression

- When the target player receives possession he can enter the pitch to create an overload, another player must replace him as the target player.

Blocking Shots (20 mins)

Set Up

Pitch size 21 x 15. Pitch was split into thirds with the middle third being the shooting zone.

The blue team starts at the opposite end to the red team. The blue player passes into the red player. The red player attacks and attempts to shoot in the middle zone. The blue player attempts to win possession or block the shot.

Progressions

1. When the defender wins possession or blocks the shot and the ball is still in play, he can attack the opposite goal and score from anywhere on the pitch.

Technical

 - Travel quickly to the ball

- Identify when to decelerate

- To get in line with the ball and goal

- Be Big

- Arms down 

Tactical

 - Try to identify when to win possession 

Physical

 - Acceleration/Deceleration, pressure the ball

- Agility, to change direction when the attack shifts the ball

Psychological/Social

- Bravery

Set Up

Pitch size 20 x 15. 

Free play 4v4,

Points: 

Goal = 1pt

Block Shot = 2pts

Technical

 - Travel quickly to the ball

- Identify when to decelerate

- To get in line with the ball and goal

- Be Big

- Arms down

 - Try to identify when to win possession through tackles and blocks

 - Acceleration/Deceleration, pressure the ball
