Conditioning (20 mins)

Fittness and Warm up

1) Sprint from Gate to gate Gate

2) Jump hardles feet together

3) Run backward to half way point (blue cones) trun and sprint through opposite gate

4) Ladder set one Each rung both feet inside (fast feet)

5) Ladder two feet together Jump into first rung, then to outside both feet then nto next and outside to opposite side (feet together)

6) Sprint to middle gate turn 180 deg back to gate turn 180 deg and through last set to run onto ball fed from coach, first time shot.

Multi drill - Passing x 2 (15 mins)

Pass and Receive

1- Player 1 passes to player 2 at station B (Player 1 moves to station B)

2 - Player 2 takes control of ball on back foot turning to pass to player 3 in one motion (Player 2 moves to station 3).

3 - Player 3 moves from right to left to simulate checking off player to receive from player 2.

4) Player 3 passes long to player 4, who passes back to player 3 coming towards him at station B, player 3 passes back to player 4, who has moved right to left (pass through cones)

Progression - Give player option on how to stop and turn with ball to link to player 3

Cones 12 m apart

Coaching points

Passes need to be accurate, using the inside of foot

Player must be ready to receive pass with open body shape at station B

Weight of pass is critical

Ball should not stop

Group drill (20 mins)

1- Coach starts by feeding balls to player at station A

2 - Player at Station B Receives ball, controlling and changing direction around cone (quick burst of pace)

3 - Player at B passes to player at C (who checks off his man), changing direction taking on mannequin on outside, passing diagonal pass to d2

4 - Player at D2 Move towards cones dribbling using inside and outside of foot, running sprint to back of line giving ball back to coach

Progressions

Change movement of players from outside to cutting inside

Coaching points

Focus on accuracy and weight of passing

Check off cones and mannequins as would need to in game

Good control of ball close to feet

Change direction and pass with control of the ball

Splitting defence and shooting (20 mins)

Splitting defence (shooting)

3 Stations

1) Coach plays ball behind defence ( Mannequin) for player from station 1 to run in behind. First time strike

2) As per station 2 shot on other foot

3) Two players, one plays wide for winger to drive at line, cutting ball back behind defender for first time strike

Players move down to next station ( At station 3 player shooting moves to winger position)

Change side so player have to take on other foot

Keep body shape open

Head over ball

Look to place ball rather than shoot at keeper

Time run
