Passing Range Variations with Off the Ball Movement
Basic drill incorporating passes of different lengths, different kinds of receptions, and off the ball runs.
A passes to B who receives on back foot and opens up through the cones to set up pass to C.
C returns ball in to path of B, who send long pass to D.
D dribbles to become A and every player moves forward one position.
Change the direction, foot and type of reception at position B:
Inside of right, open up.
Outside of right.
Inside of left open up (opposite direction to that shown in the diagram)
Outside of left.
Adapt drill to incorporate movement after the passes as shown by red lines:
A overlaps B.
B moves for give and go with C.
C makes third man run after return pass to B.

3v1 or 3v2. Passing team attempts to complete 5 passes in one square before transitioning to another.
- Adjustments off the ball must happen as the ball moves to allow for quicker decision making by the receiver
- Communication is key, visual as well as verbal
- Reception away from pressure to facilitate next pass
- Constant recycling of movement, 3 second rule - if you don't get the ball in 3 seconds recycle movement to another space
