Main Activity 2

Organization:

In a scrimmage sized grid, all players will have a ball at their feet dribbling through the cone gates that are around inside of the cones.

Instructions:

As the players get used to dribbling through the gates, the coach will have the identify different parts of their feet and demonstrate how to move the ball around with each part of their foot, singling out one part of one foot and another part on the other foot. Certain colored gates will be singled out for different parts of the foot.

Laces of both/right/left

Inside of foot both/right/left

Outside of foot both/right/left

Sole of both/right/left

Coaching Points:

Keeping the ball close

Being balanced and in control of touches

Problem solving the best ways to touch the ball

Creativity and patience are heavily encouraged

Progressions:

How quickly can you move the ball through the gates?

Players have to remember all of the touches and colors.
