Warm Up (10 mins)

Every player has a ball and they put it in space, when coach shouts go players have to run to the nearest ball and jump over it. When coach shouts ball players have to get back to there ball as fast as they can, if they are last they have to do 10 toe taps.

Progression:

Players have to touch the ball with their feet, head, chest, knees.

Turns (10 mins)

Players progress to receiving the ball on the turn, blue players start with the ball and pass it to a player on the outside who will act as a wall passer. they will look to use a surface of the foot to change direction and then continue. Players will swap after 2 minutes, red's will come in the middle, blues will go on the outside

Passing Unopposed (15 mins)

Passing Unopposed Exercise

 30y wide by 20y long area, players in pairs, one ball per pair except for the 3rd progression.

4 different progressions:

1) Setup like above - 5 steps between each cone, bigger if you want. The player with the ball dribbles to the tall cone passes the ball and then sprints backwards to their cone. Repeat for 2 minutes then switch roles. The passer will become the receiver and visa versa.

2) Same set up. This time the player with the ball will be moving as well. The player with the ball will be dribbling to the tall cone pass the ball to their partner and run back to their cone. The receiving player will then move to the tall cone and pass it to their partnet and then sprint back to their cone. Play for 4 minutes

3) Same concept as the 1st Progression. Whilst the receiving player is running back to their cone and towards the tall cone, the passer will be performing side to sides until the receiving player is back in the middle ready to receive the pass.

 4) Get the players to pick up the cones and pass in pairs in the whole grid. We want players to not just stay in one area of the grid they need to move around and find space in the area.

Coaching Points:

- Inside of the foot passing

- Strike the middle of the ball

- Non kicking foot aiming at the partner

- On your toes, no player should be on their heels

- When the receiving player is running backwards they should always be facing the ball and have their eyes on the ball

- Communicate with each other

- Make sure the passer has their head up so they know when the player is at the tall cone

-  For Progression 4 we want players to put what they have worked on in the previous progressions into practice on the move.

Through The Gates SSG (10 mins)

Through The Gates SSG.

2 teams, to score players have to make a successful pass through the gates to a person on their team.

Progression:

Add the 2 goals in, when I say switch players play a normal game and can shoot into the goals.

Scrimmage (10 mins)

Small Sided Scrimmage.

 Make the field wider than it is longer so players have to think about getting into space in the wide areas in order to receive the ball from a team mate.

Play for 10 Minutes
