P/R combo (15 mins)

Objective:

Passing and Receiving with combination

Organization:

Dimensions are 36 x 22. Group of 12 players or more.

Player A to B, B lays off to A, A to C, C to B, B to D, D lays off to C, C to player E who accelerates with ball for 5 yeards and then passes to player on endline. Players on sidelines receive ball behind defender, players on inside receive in front of defender.

Players check in front of defender and protect ball. Receive with front foot....follow your pass

Conditioned Game (25 mins)

Organization:

1) 40x30 (or similar) grid set up as shown

2) 12 players (4 attackers, 4 defenders, 4 neutrals)

3) 1 ball with additional balls by the goals

Instructions:

1) Teams score in regular fashion

2) Players have three touches maximum

3) Neutrals have 2 touch

4) If the ball leaves the area the game is restarted with regular rules

5) Must play to one neutral player before scoring a goal

Coaching Points:

1) Getting into line with the ball

2) Assess the situation as ball travels

3) Select appropriate surface (Inside, Outside)

4) Withdraw surface at impact

5) Directions of touch to enable next action

Progressions:

1) Limit amount of touches for players

2) Increase amount of times played to neutral players

Time:

4:00 min./4x

30 sec rest
