Pre Match Collapsing (5 mins)

Moving on in the GK match warm up is collapsing. (The exercise can be moved out of the goal mouth depending on the surface.) This allows the starting keeper to get a better feel of the surface and to prepare their body for impact on that surface.

The server plays the ball along the ground to both sides of the keeper. This is meant for a short collapse not a dive. Four balls per side.

This would be followed with a more advanced serve from hands that would stretch the keeper out a little more. Not quite a full dive and only three balls per side.

Crosses to GK (5 mins)

Crosses follows the strikes at goal. The server should be aiming their crosses for the top of the six yard box.

Starting from the corner the server should move five metres or so from each cross. Changing the angle and distance from where they started. This can continue until they are just outside the centre circle and half line. Six crosses per side. This is a great way to have midfielders incorporated to wram up their own crossing technique.

Strikes at Goal (5 mins)

Strikes from the top of the eighteen yard box at the corner of the "D". Server should take a touch and hit a moving ball. This will help to simulate a strike from the top of the box during a match.

The first few strikes should be right at or within a metre of the keeper after which can be broadened to the full goal.

Distrubution Warm Up (5 mins)

The distribution portion of the Match warm up is the last thing the keeper does before the start of the match. It should start with the server giving pass backs for first time strikes. Followed by stronger pass backs for a two touch strike.

Next step would be punts and drop kicks. Server would volley ball to keepers hands, who then chooses a punt or drop kick.

A few goal kicks can be taken but should be limited. The final ball served to the keeper should end with a throw towards the side line.
