Passing Drill (25 mins)

Description

Passing Drill: This activty is mirrored! Player A passes to B for a one two and then plays to C who has moved off the ball to play forward. As C receives the ball player D makes a curved run into the channel to receive a through ball from C. Players follow their pass

As this activity progesses, distances can be increased to change the type of pass required

3 Stage Shooting

Description

3 Different shooting stations: Player A passes into B who hits a first time shot. B then spins into a central area as C looks to play a one two and finish. As C shoots player D dribbles down the wing and crosses to B&C. Players rotate through where they passed to.

Change the drill around to allow cross from opposite side

Techincal Shooting Drill

Description

Shooting Drill: Player A drills a pass to player B who has one touch to control and one to shoot, but the shot has to be outside of the Area. As soon as player B shoots player C plays a one two with D and drills a pass out to the winger (player E). This player takes a touch and deliver a cross to the two strikers and with player D who has made a third man run into the box.

Game Scenario - Shooting (25 mins)

Description

Inside a square 50x40m, or appropriate for number of players. Have two goals back to back with goalkeepers in place. (Balls in Goal)

Have two sides compete for posession and shoot on sight. If a goal is scored the keeper in the other goal restarts play throwing the ball to the same side that has just scored.

Make it a competition!

Technical

Shooting from range, laces through the ball, head and knee over the ball to get body weight going in the right direction.

Decision Making - what type of shot to go for, placement, power etc!

Tactical

When the opportunity arises, shoot on sight.

Players need to work on their angles and supporting of the ball carrier to get into positions to face forward and shoot on sight in one touch

Physical

To deny shooting players will need to have a good intensity and press the ball to deny space.
