warm up (20 mins)

Warm up - 2 groups split equally at red cones - do a different movement into centre red cone then jog out to the colour on the players left. After a couple of times change the jog into a half pace sprint then 3/4 then a full sprint. So for example - side steps into middle then a burst of speed to the colour.

Function (35 mins)

Set up in a 2 - 3 - 3 (reds) and 2 - 3 (green)

2 red players in the red gates are feeders (defenders when we go into the game)

The aim is to try and create an overload inside the white lines while playing in a 4-3-3 formation although i have zoomed into the area i am working on. I have 2 shaded areas where hopefully both our wide players should end up. encourage the 3 midfielders to be patient on the ball and keep it untill they can finally get the ball into the strikers feet. If this does happen we are looking to get one of the wide players coming inside in shaded area 1 and the other wide player looking to get in behind for a through ball into shaded area number 2.The Greens score a point by getting the ball into the red gate back to the feeder (defender) when there in possesion give them 8 seconds to get the ball in the gate.

Coaching Points

3 central midfield players to keep moving try to create that angle to get the ball into strikers feet.

Be patient on the ball go backwards to defenders if you have to.

Wide players stay wide until the time is right to make your move inside (be an option to pass to)

communcation is vital we dont want both wide players coming into the same area.

9v9 working with the the same team try to encourage the use of the session we have been working on

If not getting much success offer them a an extra goal if we get a wide player into the shaded zone 1 and the other into zone 2 Give greens 10 seconds to score when they have ball.
