W/up cool down

Warm up by practising side step, and inside outside using zig zag cones.

Cool down/homework

Start wil ball about 0.5m behind 1st cone.

Perform R stepover

- R foot fakes to kick tothe L but comes over top of ball to land to L of ball

- with a small adjustment of L foot take ball to R with outside of R foot

- as ball approaches 2nd cone perform same move with L foot

- fake a pass to the R but step over ball

*whilst learning remember that step over foot should be grounded after the fake but before the take

*if the take is too firm, stop ball under same foot at correct position ahead of next move

Side coerver box. (15 mins)

All groups as per A1>B. Dribble towards mannekin and perform SS (R is shown), L foot pass to next corner (B). Receiving players checks out and in to receive on back foot.

*look to fake pass

*quickly take ball on other foot

*opposite arm protects exit

*head up to before pass

*2 way communication

Progression - go other way round doing a L SS.

Progression - revise inside outside in same setup.

Rotation : follow pass to back of next queue.

S/C/Box Prog 1 (15 mins)

All group as A1>D>C. Dribble to mannekin, perform SS or I/O (L and R are shown) continue RWB and cross to next corner (C) once past cone.

Lots of traffic - if necessary start by doing one cycle at once, then wait till all groups ready to restart.

*timing of cross

*head up to check target

*crossing foot at angle, body facing front

*Accuracy of cross - mannekin provides additional obstacle

Rotation : go to next corner ie A would join D queue.

Progress by going other way round.

2 channels preferable (but can just use 1 if A, A>C.

When defending :

1st defender - block the cross, jockey, pressure, force mistake or missed pass/cross

When attacking/crossing :

Use either foot to perform 1v1, protect space, don't give up if not initially sucessful.

Receiving player to move to provide angle/space for cross

Group 1v2 cross and finish (15 mins)

20x20 area. 2 channels.

White passes to black and closes down. Black B1 must get past cone before crossing for B2 to finish in other goal.

Whites must be 1st defender and try to remain 'in the game' - don't dive in - pressure and patience.

Play for 2 mins each team.

Progress 1 - by adjusting cones position to increase difficulty for B1 and 1 touch finish for B2.

Progress 2 - w2 is live once crossfield pass has been made . This forces Bs to use more speed and increases pressure on B2 finish. If Ws wins possession they score by passing thru cone goal.

Play 2 mins each way and compete.

Changeover game (15 mins)

30x20 area. 4v4 or 5v5. Changeover game.

Free format game. Whites must dribble thru goal A or pass thru goals B to to a team mate to changeover.

Blacks score in normal goals.

Restarts are dribble or kick ins
