Functional - Defending (45 mins)

How to Play

The three Blues are forwards, the two Yellows are Midfield players who play as neutrals (team in possession), the three Reds are defenders.

The Blues and Yellows attack the goal & try to score. If the GK makes a save the Red team look to counter attack.

If the Reds win the ball they can counter attack with the Yellows to run the ball over the end line.

Coaching Points

Reds - move side to side and up and down as a unit. Communication. React to transition, be positive.

Blues - be positive when attacking. On losing the ball, drop towards the halfway line. Be compact. Don't chase the ball.
