Technical Shielding

Set Up: Depending on the age/size of the players, grid should be between 3x3 and 5x5 yards. Players partner up with one ball between them.

Activity: One player starts with ball with other player on their side. With the outside foot on the ball, player tries to keep ball away from other player by shielding it with their body. Player tries to keep ball for 10 seconds, and then players switch.

Coaching Points: Players should be somewhat side on, not with their back turned fully to the defender, body should be kept between the defender and the ball at all times and ball should be in constant touch with the outside foot, ball shouldn't remain stationary, but should be moved based on where the defender is pressuring.
