Forward runs with and without the ball (40 mins)

Set Up

30x30 square (or 40x40). 5x30 end zones (or 5x40).

2 Teams (red and blue)

4 v 4 in the middle area (can be adapted to 3 v 3 or 2 v 2)

In each end zone (1,2,3,4), there's a red and blue each with a ball. If there are less players, instead of making it a multidirectional practice, make it a bi-directional practice and have 1 red each in zones (1 and 3) and 1 blue each zones 2 and 4. Same rules applies.

Rules

Game begins with coach playing the ball to either side in the middle zone. Objective is to run with the ball from zone 1 to 3 (or vice versa), or from zone 2 to 4 (or vice versa). Both teams.

For e.g

Blue player (A) is looking to get into zone 4. Once he dribbles the ball into zone 4, blue player (B) is released and looks to dribble/combine with the players in the middle to get to zone 2. If a red had got into zone 4 with the ball, the red player (C) would have been released and the red team would have to advance and get into zone 2 with the ball.

At any point, if the blue team feel it's unable to get from zone 4 to 2, they can 'bail' out sideways and dribble into zone 1 or 3 where their respective blue teammate would dribble out and the objective would be to get from zone 1 to 3 (or vice versa).

Points are only scored when a team can get from end to end.

Restrictions

Players MUST dribble out of the end zone and not pass out.

Points

1pt - players combines and gets from end zone to end zone

2pts - player lets the ball run across his body and does a no touch turn and gets the ball into the end zone

3pts - a player dribbles from end zone to end zone without using a teammate
