Organization:

55x30 yrds grid

12 players

Set of footballs

Instructions:

Ask different players to name a slow, medium and fast animal. After coaches instructions they perform slow, medium and fast runs with the ball accordingly to the animal respective pace.

Variation:

Get all footballs in the center of the grid. Blue team start by any manequim and Reds by any large cone. Both teams compete by running to the center, collecting a ball a running with to the start point. Whoever complete it first wins.

Coaching points:

- Play first touch of ball out of feet in direction you want to go

- Make contact with the laces

- Try not to break stride pattern

- Keep head up but know where the ball is

- Keep the ball nice and close when unchallenged

Instructions:

Give numbers to players. Whenever a number is shouted, player with the ball run to any manequin, and the defending team player run round the large cone. Coach then provide ball possession to fastest team.

Variation:

Player who reach destination last seat until the last one standing. Team with less players standing win.

Coaching points:

- Stay alert of game rules

- Move quickly

- Get into running stride

Instructions:

GK roll the ball to either one of the 2 defenders who are against 3 attackers. Defender must run with the ball to opposite before passing or shooting. Initially attackers are not allowed to track back and must allow free first touch too.

Scoring:

Both teams can score in goals, but if Reds run with the ball to either one of the large cones counts as 2 goals and Blues score is doubled by running with the ball to either one of the manequins.

Progressions:

- Remove large cones and manequins

- Counts as 5 goals if attacking team dribble pass a GK to score

- If a attacker collect a ball from the defensive zone and dribble pass defenders and score counts as 10 goals

Coaching points:

- Isolate defenders and force 1v1 scenario

- Fake taking the ball one way and then suddenly aim the ball the other way

- Alternate feet when dribbling to avoid predictability and force defenders to deal with different angles of approach
