Small-sided game (20 mins)

8 v 8 Game: Combination Play (20 mins)

Set-Up: Field is 70yds long x 50yds wide with a half-way line and 2

goals at either end. Two equal teams, with 2 GK's. Balls

distributed beside goal to keep the game flowing when balls go

out of play.

Instructions: Play 8 v 8 with offside in effect. Re-start from the GK

when a goal is scored or ball goes out of play.

Coaching Points:

1. Stay switched on to transition. 2. Combine using a variety principles - Takeover, Overlap, One-Two etc

3. Be creative in your play. 4. Vary the tempo in your play. 5. Use disguise in your play. 6. Be active off the ball. 7. Take risks.

2 v 2 Attacking (20 mins)

2 V 2 attacking

Set-up: Field is 36yds x Width of Penalty Area, a goal and two small gates at either end as shown. Balls located at either end of the field. Two teams split evenly at each end of the field gehind the two gates with a GK in each goal.

Instructions: Two players attack two defenders and attempt to score. If possession is lost or a goal is scored the defending team leaves the field of play and two new players from their team enter the field of play as attackers with a new ball. The attacking pair now transition to defending.

Coaching Points:

1. Stay switched on to transition. 2. Combine using a variety principles - Takeover, Overlap, One-Two etc

3. Be creative in your play. 4. Vary the tempo in your play. 5. Use disguise in your play. 6. Be active off the ball. 7. Take risks.

3 v 3 Game (20 mins)

3 V 3 attacking

Instructions: 3 v 3 in the area, play and and attempt to score. If a goal is scored possession re-starts with the server of the team that scored. If ball goes out of play re-start from the server whose team did not loose poessession.
