4v4 - 2 Zone (20 mins)

4v4 - 2 Zone Play

- Players are split into two teams of 4.

- Two players on each team are designated attackers, 2 are designated defenders

- Game is played as a normal game, defenders must try to win ball and play into their own attackers who try to score

- Attackers on each team must stay in attacking half of field, defenders must defend the half their goal is in.

- Switch attackers and defenders every 3 minutes to allow for experience at all positions

Coaching Points

1. Focus on quickly winning ball back and quick transition from defenders to attackers

2. Attackers must have constant movement to create space and to lose defenders

3. 2v2 play should set up overload (2v1) situations through movement

Progression

1. Restrict to 2 or 3 touches per player

2. If defender completes pass into an attacker, they may join the play to create a 3v2 situation
