Techincal Warm Up (10 mins)

Organization:

25x25

Every Player with ball

Instructions:

Players freely dribble inside the grid

Players listen to coaches command

1-Burst of Speed

2- Moving Foundations

3- Moving Toe Taps

4 - Feint and Accelerate

5 - Stationary Scissors

6. Ball Cradles

If you bump into a player: 10 toe taps

If you dribble out of the grid: 10 toe taps

Phase II:

- Every player starts with ten points (minus two starting defenders ... they begin with 9)

- Every time you lose possession of ball you lose a point

- 2x60 second rounds

Coaching Points:

- create space by looking for that

- penetrate the gaps on the field

- head up while dribbling

- engaging different speeds of play - knowing when to push into speed at space

1v1's (10 mins)

Need:

8 Cones

Multiple Balls

2 Pinnies

Set Up:

Two Large squares

Split players into two groups

Half players to one side lined up with balls, rest of group lined acrossed

Instruction:

A passes across to B

B must now go 1v1 with A and dribble ball across defenders line

Switch sides and repeat

Coaching Points

Defender pressures quickly and shows player to the side

Positive first touch from Attacker

Prepare:

Add goal at bottom of square

Attacker and defender in the middle

Rest of players at one side with ball each

Instruction

Player passes into team mate in the middle and attacks red cone goal

Attacker in the middle collects ball and goes to back of que

Player who passed ball in replaces him

Progressions

Limit to three passes maximum

Coaching Points

Stretch Play

Strong pass into middle

Diagonal Runs made by attackers

Defender shows them outwards
