Rondo's (20 mins)

Practice Organisation:

*3 rondo squares

*1 defender in 2 of the 3 squares.

*Ball in each square.

1. Practice starts with: Defender tries to win the ball from the players on the outside, whoever gives the ball away must pick up the bib and go and chase the ball and win it from which ever square doesn't have a defender in.

Learning Objectives:

*Tempo of session

*Indicators - Use of hands to signal where would like to recieve ball

*Creating better angles

*Picture of what's around them

Y Passing Pattern (20 mins)

Practice Organisation:

-Use Poles or Mannequins set up as illustrated.

-A player on each mannequin.

-First player moves the ball to either side of the mannequin.

-Player receiving the ball moves accordingly, always on an angle.

-He receives ball on back foot and plays on the angle again to player who has checked off to receive the ball.

Progressions:

-Player 3 sets the ball playing a one two round the mannequin.

Learning Objectives:

-Timing of movement.

-Body shape to receive.

-Receive on back foot.

-Accuracy/weight /quality of pass.

Worlds Best Shooting Game (20 mins)

Learning Objectives

Shooting Drill.

Improve finishing with one touch.

Lines of feeders behind the goal line. Ball fed diagonally to shooting line. Ball fed on the floor at a speed to allow the shooter to strike the ball first time. Shooters encouraged to move towards the ball where possible.

Coaching points.

Placement v power.

Keep weight going forward in order to keep the shot down.

Follow up shot for rebound.

Make adjustments for poor feeds.

Progressions:

Lofted feed in order to strike on volley

Lofted feeds in order to head to goal.

Driven pass, shoot in two touches.

Coerver 1v1 Game leading to 2v2 (30 mins)

Practice Organisation

*Player A passes the ball to player B.

*Player B looks to attack either goal.

*In order to score Player A must have 3 or more touches before they can finish

Progression:

*If the defender wins the ball they can attack the other goal

*Progress to 2v2

*The attacking team look to isolate 1 player in order to create an overload situation

*Encourage players to make quick decisions and look to use overlaps to create 2v1 situations

SSG (30 mins)

Set up:

- 40 by 30 yards

- 2 GK, 6v6

Objectives:

* Angle and distance from attackers (Marking)

* Distance from defensive partner (Covering)

* Push attacks into wide areas

* Communication

* Delay the play or Deny Space

* Block shots

Challenges:

- Try to push attacks into wide areas

- Try to get into a position / recognise when, to intercept the ball
