Dribbling Warm-up (10 mins)

Organization:

1. Open area. 20x20/ 30x30

2. Every player with a ball.

Instructions:

1. Players dribble in open area.

3. Introduce feinting movements.

Coaching Points:

1. Head up.

2. Controlled touches.

3. Use body to fake

4. Outside touch with opposite foot

5. Accelarate

Progressions:

1. End with knockout game.

Technical Non/Semi-Opposed (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Players distributed evenly at corners as shown.

2. Every player with a ball.

3. Central square is 5x5.

4. Starting position at corner is 10-15yds from closest cone in middle.

Instructions:

1. First player from each white team runs through square upon making eye contact.

2. As soon as they are out of the square, the first players from blue group do the same.

3. Process repeats for set time (2-3 minutes).

4. Players must perform feint at red cone before running through square.

5. a- Feint to right

b- feint to Left

c- Double feint

Coaching Points:

2. Weight and direction of first touch - positive (into space).

3. Speed of approach - slow down as you get close to target.

4. Technical execution of feint and double feint.

a- Use Body to fake

b- Lean to one side dropping shoulder

c- Place same side foot next to ball

d- outside of opposite foot touch

e- Accelarate away

f- Final touch bigger to look up

5. Timing of feint/double feint.

6. Accelerate away.

Progressions:

1. Work on both sides (right and left).

2. Competition - place balls on top of cones. Teams lose a point if they knock ball down.

Fully Opposed - 1v1 (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 30x15 into 3 grids as shown.

2. 3 zones

4. Mini goals set up at ends as shown.

Instructions:

1. Attacker starts with the ball.

2. Defender restricted to middle zone

3. Attacker looks to feint/double feint defender and score.

4. A- can score anywhere B- Must shoot from middle zone

5. Defenderrecovers ball= Attacker becomes defender

Coaching Points:

1. Positive first touch - take space quickly.

2. Head up to assess pressure.

3. Drive at defender at speed.

4. Timing if execution based on space with defender

5. Attack defenders front foot

6. Protect ball with body

6. Accelerate away to lose defender - Ronaldo.

Progressions:

1. transition if defender recovers ball. Make mini goals

Organization:

1. Normal Dimensions

2. Positions + formations

3. 2 lines to create wide channels as shown

Instructions:

1. Free play

2. to score team in possession must find/create 1v1 on sides and beat him with feint/double feint

3. Only 1 defender allow on channel

Coaching Points:

1. Recognition of space.

2. when and where to use feint?

3. Movement and angles of support to create space: Width to create 1v1.
