Focus: Switching the Point of Attack

Skill Review: Roll Push (Outside) in a 1v1 scenario // Inside Push Pass

3. Recognizing moments when to possess vs. penetrate.

4. Technique - Entrance, Engagement, Execution, Exi

5. Mentality - (a) Go to goal. (b) beat the defender with the roll push in a 1v1 scenario to get in the space left behind. (c) Possess to penetrate.

2. After a set period of time, players in the middle switch with the players on the outside.

Coaching Points:

1. Servers must make eye contact before they make the pass into the middle player, this will help us establish a habit of getting our players to look forward to play. (Visual Communication)

2. Set a specific demand for the ball (FEET!)

3. Open Body Shape to allow for receiving players to receive on back foot to open up and play to the opposite side

4. Receiving players must receive on the back foot to be able to open up and play the ball to the opposite quickly.

Progressions:

1. Possibly introduce double pass into opposite server (1 ball in play for this), if group has the ability to progress.
