Introduction

Players play 1v1 with a target player. The defender's aim is to win the ball back as quickly as possible and play to the target player. The attacker must try and score in the goal. If the attacker takes longer than 5 seconds to score they must bounce the ball back of the target player before restarting their 5 second time limit.

The focus is creating space to receive the ball. Receiving to feet, or to space and trying to face up their opponent 1v1 and attack quickly. This will help players peel off their opponent and also open out once they receive where required. The target player must get into good positions to receive from both the attacker and defender and make good decisions on when, where and how to pass to the striker. Rotate roles every 2 minutes.

To progress, if the defender gets the ball to the target player they rotate. The target player then becomes the attacker and the attacker becomes the defender. This will work on the movement of the target player to get in to the best possible position to receive the ball and attack with speed. The attacker must work quickly in transition to become the defender.

The pitch is split into 3 zones, with a goal at each end. The central zone is 5 yards long and the end zones are 15.

Players are locked in to their zones, the game is directional and the aim is to find space to receive when playing in balance. The ball can be transferred from defence to attack or can be linked through the magic man in the central zone. The ball can be played back as and where required. Rotate roles.

To progress, if a defender has the ball they can dribble in to attack, leaving a 1v2 defensively. They can also push on and join an attack if the ball is passed in. The nearest player should recover when possession is lost.

The teams play 5v5 + GK. The defending team must break out into the end zone and score in one of the small goals. The attacking team must score past the GK into the large goal. Offside is played from the halfway line. Rotate ends at half time.

To progress, if the defending team win the ball and score they rotate quickly and become the attacking team, trying to quickly find space to penetrate their opponents who may be out of balance.
