characteristics of three of the top players in the world: Messi, Xavi
and Ronaldo. The Coach will use these three players to paint the
picture and build the foundation for each player to learn.
Coaching Points:
Painting the Picture of each one of the player's characteristics:
* MESSI: Head up looking to get into the gaps using small, quick
touches with the Pinky Toe (outside of the foot).
* XAVI: Head up to recognize when there's no gaps/space, then
change of direction (12 o'clock to 6 o'clock), ball comes out of your
feet, and then head and eyes up getting into the new space.
* RONALDO: Head up to see when there's a lot of space in front of
you, then big touch to accelerate and get your head/eyes up and
attack the space.

Attacking players with a ball each
Instructions:
1.the attacking players must go dribble 1v1 with all three defending players in the gauntlet using there moves from last week to beat each one and make it to the safe line, the next attacking player should set off when the first attacking player is past the first defender.
2.If the attacking player makes it to the safe line they must then dribble/run with the ball ronaldo style down one of the channels at the side and gett ready to go again
3.If the defender steels they must give the attacking player back the ball then the attacking player enters the channels at the side and Ronaldo dribbles back to the start.
4. Players get a point for every defender they beat , defenders get a point for a steal.
Coaching Points:
-Recognize space behind the defender
-Commit defender

-Observe the body position of the defender
-If side on attack the front foot
-If square push the ball past and accelerate
-Timing and execution of Moves
-Cut into space behind defending player once beaten
-Play at speed
Progressions:
Allow the defenders to press forward from there lines to add more pressure but they can only do this once the attacking player moves into there section of the channel.
Regression
For the begginer players you can start without a ball and have them running throught the gauntlet while the defender trys to tag them.
For the intermediate group they could tuck a pinnie on there weist band and the defenders have to steel so they get a sense of protecting there asset(pinnie) in the live game it would be the ball.
