20 min: Warm Up - 3 teams possession game (20 mins)

Warm up - 3 team possession game

- half field, set up as per diagram

- all players, in teams of 3 or 4, depending on the #s

- 1 ball

- pinnies, cones

2 teams in possession of the ball, one team defends. Once a team looses possession of the ball becomes the defending team. Can limit to 1-2-3 touches. Can introduce the targets in the corners (can score only if a player passes the balll throught the target to a teammate) as a progression to the main session

- good first touch in direction you go

- body position, move before you receive, open angles, decision

making

- accuracy , weight , pace, head up

- speed of play, intensity

- communication, demand for ball

30 min 4v2 or 5v2 possession game (30 mins)

4v2 (or 5v2) possession game

- divide an area of 60x20 into 3 equal zones, as per diagram

- 3 teams of 4 or 5 players, depending on numbers

- balls

- pinnies, cones

3 teams - one team in each area. Coach serves the ball into the red team (or yellow) who keeps possesion of the ball while 2 blue players from he middle zone come and defend.The red players need to make 5 passes in a row before they send a long pass (on the ground) to the yellow team whos starts passing the ball. the other 2 blue players from the mid zone will go and defend. whichever team looses posssesion will go in the middle and defend. The team who sends a long pass after 5 consecutive short passes win a point. iI the ball goes out of bounce, the coach serves another ball in the oposite third

Limit number of touches. start with 3 only, if succesfull, try 2.

Switch possession every time more touches are taken.

Once the target touches the ball, the passer will replace him on the sidelines, as target
