6 v 4 + 2 (30 x 25 yard area) (20 MINUTES)
- Outside players - two touch
- Inside players - one touch
EACH TEAM OF 4 DEFENDS FOR 5 MINUTES
Coaching points:
- Defenders - stay compact, communicate and work as a team
- nearest man pressures, two support and one covers
- On winning the ball, defenders play 4 v 2 in the middle with two touches

COMBINATION PLAY (15-20 MINUTES)
A - Passes inside to Player B and follows pass
B - Dribbles towards player C and performs a takeover (remains in C position)
C - Passes first time into Player D (follows pass into D position)
D - Turns the ball around the corner to Player E who sets the ball to D to strike at goal (F) (D takes up E position whilst E joins the queue who made the original pass (A)
Coaching Points:
- Quality of the pass
- Tempo and speed of possession
- Movement off of the mannequins
- Clean strike of the ball - hit the target

FITNESS - SPEED ENDURANCE (10 MINUTES)
- 4 players play 3 v 1 in each of the red grids (8 x 8)
- On whistle - every player sprints 5m and back plus 10m and back
- Last player back is defender in the 3 v 1
- Active rest for 1 minute - REPEAT x 2
- 4 players play 3 v 1 in each of the red grids (8 x 8)
- On whistle - every player sprints 5m and back, 10m and back PLUS 20m and back
- Last player back is defender in the 3 v 1

4 v 2 POSSESSION (15 x 10 yard area) (15 MINUTES)
Conditions: Start two touch - then limit to one touch
2 MINUTES EACH DEFENDING PAIR - HIGH INTENSITY
EACH TEAM WILL DEFEND TWICE
- Possessions players - may move up and down their line but not enter the grid
- Count passes and aim to maintain possesion
- Encourage to attempt passes between two defenders
- Defending players - play out over any line
Coaching Points:
- Possession team must use all of the space and maintain shape
- Keep ball away from defenders
- Defenders - communicate, maintain pressure and support each other
