Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Change Direction: Activity

Main Theme (10 mins)

Organization:

1.25 x 10 yard area with a 5 x 10 yard central zone (action area), set up as shown

2.Two teams of three players

3.Lots of balls

Instructions:

1.The defending player starts the activity by passing the ball into one of the attacking players

2.The attacking player has the option to score in either goal

3.The defending player must attempt to prevent the attacker from scoring

4.If the defend wins the ball they attempt to score in one of the two goals

5.The game is over when the ball leaves the area

6.The next game is then started from the defending team

7.Rotate players after a set time period

Coaching Points:

1.Positive first touch

2.Look to shoot early

3.Get low when turning to create a platform to accelerate

4.Head up for next action
