5 v 5 +2 (20 mins)

Organization:

-In an aprox a 30 x30 working area, divide the grid into 4 quadrants.

-make 2 teams and pick 2 neutral players.

-teams play possession using the neutral players when they have the ball.

-the objective is to complete a pre-determined amount of passes in an area and then pass to a teammate who has made a run into another quadrant to successfully earn a point. Alternatively the player can dribble into the other quadrant after the stipulated number of passes

-Once play has moved to another quandrant play all players move to that quadrant and play continues with the objective of completing the above task and moving into another quadrant

 -Play 3 x 5 min with 2, minutes recovery between games

Progression:

-quantity of passes

-touch limit

-make it mandatory to play through the neutral player to score.

Coaching Points:

-little to no correction.

-good work rate; coach-over in the game.

-transitioning from attacking to defending and vice versa.

-speed of play.

3-Team Possession (20 mins)

Organization:

-divide your group into 3 teams and give them different colours.

-use the working area available to suit your session; depending on numbers.

-2 teams are in possession, 1 chases; when a team loses possession, they become the group chasing and the other teams now work together.When a team loses possession they must sprint around a pylon, re-enter grid and then get together to pressure the ball.(while they are doing this the 2 teams disperse/get shape and begin passing the ball.

-Play 3 x 5 minutes games with 2 minutes rest between..total 19 min

Possible Progression:

-when a team wins the ball, they must pass to their own colour first, before they can play the other team they are working with.

Coaching Points:

-little to no correction; coach during play.

-focus on quick ball movement and movement off of the ball for teams in possession.

-transition from attacking to defending and vice versa.

-defending team needs to work together.
