Ball Mastery

Organization:

1. Each Player has a ball and cone.

Instructions:

1. Toe taps.

2. Inside taps.

3. V Turn.

Coaching Points:

1. Turning hips facing the direction the ball is moving in.

2. Hop after pulling the ball and make both feet face the direction the ball is moving into.

SAQ

Organization:

1. 2 lines of 6 players (without a ball).

Instructions:

1. Players jog from the 1st cone to the 3rd cone and jog back on the outside of the cones.

2. Exercises: Dynamic stretches, Coodination exercises and running mechanics.

Coaching Points:

1. Arms - Hips to lips.

2. Chest Upright.

3. Movement at shoulders not elbows.

4. Run on toes not flat footed.

Unopposed Technical

Organization:

1. In pairs with one ball.

2.Two cones between pairs with the cones being 7/8 yards apart.

3. An extra two cones one cone behind each player.

Instructions:

1. Players pass between each other.

2. When the coach shouts the cue word for them to go, players take there 1st touch forward and dribble around the cone front of them dribble back to there cone, turn and pass to their team mate to win the point if they are 1st back

3. -1st touch outside foot and pass with inside (same foot) - Inside of one foot and inside of the other foot.(different feet) - Inside foot and otuside of foot (same foot).

Coaching Points:

Passing Player:

1. Eye contact before pass.

2. Slap pass - no spin.

Receiving Player:

1. Be prepared (on toes).

2. Move in line with the ball.

3. Head up as ball travels.

4. 1st touch out of feet to set up pass or dribble forward.

5. (1st touch across body) Turn hips slightly towards the angle you want the ball to move into.

Progressions:

1. Race between groups to dribble to the top cone and back to their cone before passing to their team mate to win the point.

Organization:

1. 30 x 30

2. 2 groups of 6 (if possible, depending on space).

3. 2 Goals and 6 cones (as seen above).

Instructions:

1. Player A passes to Player B and can't press until Player B touches the ball.

2. Player B is looking to score in either goal.

3. Player A is trying to win the ball and score in either goal.

4. Players must dribble through either gate net before scoring in the goal.

Progressions:

1. Player A can now pressure as the ball is travelling to Player B (encourage quality of pass).

3 v 3

Organization:

1. Area size 30 x 25.

2. 3 v 3 (include GK if available).

Instructions:

1. Players split up into 4 teams and play a round robin tournament where all teams play.

Coaching Points:

1. 3 lines of attack, 1 defender, 1 midfielder, 1 forward.

2. Create as much space for player in possession.

3. Try to create a triangle at all times to give good angle of support.

4. Team mates create gaps, can player in possession look to Messi into them.
